May 27, 2022 @ 9:00 am May 29, 2022 @ 11:30 am

The 2022 Annual Foursquare Chaplains Training will take place on Friday, May 27, and continue through the morning of Sunday, May 29, and will be held at the Orlando Orange County Convention Center. The event begins at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 27, and will end at 12 p.m. on Sunday, May 29.

The Chaplains Training is designed for not only Foursquare chaplains, chaplain candidates, and their spouses, but also to all who are interested in pursuing the calling to minister as a chaplain.

There are two training tracks to choose from. After you register you will receive a survey link to confirm which of the tracks you will choose to attend.

Track 1 – Marriage + Ministry: “In this together” (Gary + Tammy Dunahoo)

This marriage workshop will examine the importance of marriage and the values that husbands and wives bring to the marriage relationship. The workshop theme will be how we as marriage partners are “in this together,” which will serve as a guide for marital partners to be uniquely themselves while coordinating developmental opportunities to build unity.

  • Session 1: In this with Jesus
  • Session 2: In this with me
  • Session 3: In this with you
  • Session 4: In this together

Marriage has always been an important topic throughout the Dunahoos’ ministry and they invested one year to full-time travel across the U.S. teaching marriage seminars. Through 38 years of pastoring as well as working with leaders through denominational roles, marriage has always been front and center in their priorities of teaching and mentoring and believe there is nothing more needed than for couples to pursue God’s heart for oneness.

Gary is finishing a Doctorate in Human Development from Fielding Graduate University and Tammy completed a Doctorate in Leadership and Global Perspectives from Portland Seminary. Gary is an executive coach and Tammy is the director of Leader Health and Development for The Foursquare Church.   Gary and Tammy are passionate about personal growth and aligning our lives to re-enact the gospel in our relationships, neighborhood and communities.

Track 2 – Chaplaincy as a cross-cultural ministry

Globalization has deeply impacted our daily lives, including the spaces in which chaplain’s minister and serve. These realities are necessitating that chaplains build new skills to function effectively and to maintain meaningful and diverse partnerships. This training will focus on identifying the current realities and developing skills that will position chaplains to minister in ecumenical spaces effectively to work for the well-being of all those they serve.

Themes explored will include:

  • Cultivating effective ecumenical partnerships
  • Developing and strengthening Cultural Intelligence
  • Navigating Ministry in Pluralistic Contexts
  • Ministering the Gospel Cross-Culturally
